National Public Lands Day
The weather was great on Saturday and volunteers pitched in to help with some maintenance tasks at the Interpretive Center. The Wagon Encampment has been weeded, the amphitheater stage received a much needed coat of linseed oil, and the Ascent Trail was improved.
Thanks to everyone who participated!

Labor Day Weekend
The Wagon Encampment is wrapped up for this Labor Day weekend.
We enjoyed amazing weather, vitttles cooked over the campfires, and visiting with folks from all over the US...and places further afield. Mike Buckner and his fellow mountain men camped here, sharing their skills with visitors.
Bullwhackin' Kass her oxen stopped by (they'll be pulling out tomorrow).

Thursday Outdoor Club
What a blast! The last Thursday Outdoor Club activity for 2011 was August 25th -- everyone had so much fun. Ice cold lemonade, cookies, and awards were presented. Alexa Nickens and Garrett Nickens each received an award for attending at least eight of the twelve Thursday Outdoor Club sessions.
Don't forget to look for more children activities throughout the year! Our Calendar of Events is posted on our website:
